UREA - DOMESTIC PRODUCT
Other names: Urea Pura, Carbamide
General Information
Urea, which is a granular, white color, whose chemical formula is H2N-CO-NH2, is a water-soluble and highly soluble and diamide of carboxylic acid, is also known as carbamide, since it is the amide of carbamic acid. has been used in more than 50 reactions. It has been preferred by the reason that it contains 46% N (nitrogen) in the urea content which is primarily used in agriculture sector.
Production and Reactions
Technically, the urea can be obtained by heating the ammonium carbonate to 150-200 ° C.
In the reaction known as Wöhler synthesis; KCNO is obtained by heating a mixture of PbO2 with KCN. Urea can also be obtained by heating the ammonium cyanate prepared by treating KCNO with ammonium sulfate.
Usage areas
Agriculture
In the use of this preferred substance with 45-46% nitrogen content as fertilizer, urea bacteria in the soil with enzymatic reaction to turn into urea ammonium (NH4) nitrogen form is useful.
Paint
Thanks to its ability to absorb moisture, it has found use in the paint industry urea.
Water
It is used as a fergitation to a maximum of 3 g / L into the irrigation lines.
